Jose R. Cestero Casanova is a seasoned and skilled residential and commercial real estate professional with over 30 years of experience in valuation, development, brokerage, and complex loan structuring. He has mainly dedicated the last ten years to the valuation of affordable housing, residential subdivisions, residential condominiums, multi-family housing, freestanding and multi-tenant retail properties, hotels, office buildings, industrial properties, elderly housing, self-storage and boat storage facilities.
Jose holds a bachelor’s degree in business with a concentration in finance from Boston University, a master’s degree in business with a concentration in finance and marketing from Indiana University, an MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute, and a CCIM Designation. He is currently also a candidate for the AI-GRS and SRA designations from the Appraisal Institute.
Jose started his career in the banking industry and then acted as the economic, housing, and financial advisor for the mayor of San Juan, Puerto Rico. He later headed the Puerto Rico Housing Finance Authority, before opening his own real estate advisory firm.
In his free time, Jose enjoys motorcycle riding and water-related activities.
